(Repost from Nagoya English Language Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops dated 1/16/2021)
Now that Aichi has been added to the prefectures restricted by the National State of Emergency, Pack 758 and Troop 758 are taking even more precautions with our meetings to ensure that everyone stays safe. It’s sad that we cannot meet in person, but our leaders are coming up with various ideas to keep the scouts working on their skills. (Editor's update: Aichi Prefecture is still in a State of Emergency as of Sept. 2021) Our Cub Scouts will be learning about the mechanics for making an awesome Pine Wood Derby car from some professional engineers. The Derby has been postponed by a month, but soon they will be able to show off their cars and race. Our Boy Scouts are working on their scouting skills with a miniature pioneering project contest. Who can make the coolest camping gadget with bbq skewers and thread or dental floss? Are you looking for activities for your children while you stay at home? Check out this site for some ideas. https://scoutlife.org/.../funstuff/167895/indoor-activities/ We hope that all our readers and followers will continue to follow the guidelines for safety (wear a mask, wash your hands, gargle, socially distance). Hopefully, with everyone’s cooperation, we will be able to celebrate spring under the cherry blossoms and hold more in-person scouting events. If you would like more information about scouting in Nagoya, please send us a direct message or an email to [email protected].
